River cruises

A new adventure every day!

River cruising is the fastest-growing category we book — and for good reason. Small ships, 150 to 190 guests, sailing the Rhine, Danube, Douro, Rhône, Seine, Nile, Mekong and beyond. You unpack once, and wake up tied to the heart of a different town every morning. Almost everything is included — meals, wine and beer with dinner, daily walking tours, gratuities on many lines.

A day on the river

An unhurried rhythm — tied up by 8am, sailing by sunset, a different town every day.

Sunrise

Coffee on the sun deck. The ship has slipped into the next town overnight — cobbled streets visible just over the rails.

Late morning

A guided walk through the old quarter — the local guide knows everyone. Or a bike ride along the towpath if you’re on one of the active lines.

Afternoon

Back aboard, the ship sails as you finish lunch. Vineyards, castles, sleepy villages drifting past your cabin window all afternoon.

Evening

Dinner with regional wine, a violinist in the lounge, then a short walk into whichever town the ship has tied up at for the night. Bed by midnight.

Things people ask us first

A few quick answers before you reach out.

When should I book?

For peak European itineraries — Christmas markets, tulip season, popular Danube sailings — 12 to 18 months ahead is normal. We’ll tell you when the right cabin is in danger of going.

What’s included?

Almost everything on most river lines: meals, wine and beer at lunch and dinner, daily walking tours, and often gratuities. Air, transfers, and pre-cruise hotels vary by line and package.

I’m travelling solo — is that hard?

River lines have steadily added solo cabins and reduced or waived single supplements on the right sailings. We know which ones, on which dates.

Is the ship rocking? Will I get seasick?

No. You’re on a river, not an ocean. Even guests who can’t do ocean cruising have no trouble on rivers.

Do you charge a fee?

No. We’re paid by the cruise lines — the price you pay through us is the same as booking direct, often a little better with our partner perks.

Or maybe a different kind of cruise?
